Itinerary

Day 1

Hanoi – Arrival
Meet on arrival at Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport and transfer to the hotel for check in.
In the afternoon city tour (if time permits) including the visit of Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple in the Old Quarter of Hanoi.

Day 2

Hanoi – City tour
Breakfast at the hotel.
Full-day city tour including visits of the most remarkable sites as Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday and whole October-November) and Residence, One Pillar Pagoda and Army Museum.
Continues by the visit of the Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century as Vietnam’s first university, the Fine Arts Museum and Quan Thanh Temple.
Enjoy in the evening a Water Puppet Show, the unique Vietnamese traditional art.

Day 3

Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Hanoi
Breakfast at the hotel.
a.m.Drive 75 km to Hoa Binh. Take a 2,5 hour boat trip on Da reservoir, visit some ethnic minority villages surrounded by rice paddies, farms and houses-on-stilts. Visit Yang Mo villages by car. This area is home of many hill tribes including Muong and Dzao ethnic minorities
p.m.Drive back to Hanoi. Accommodation

Day 4

Hanoi – Halong
Breakfast at the hotel.
a.m.Drive to Ha Long (180 km) via the town of Hai Phong. Short sightseeing tour in Hai Phong including the Du Hang Pagoda and Hang Kenh Temple. Continue by road to Halong. Arrive in Halong, transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 5

Halong Bay – Hanoi

Breakfast at the hotel.
a.m.Discover Halong Bay, listed as World Heritage of outstanding natural beauty. The picturesque Halong Bay has more than 3,000 limestone islets rising from the clear emerald water, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. A 5-hour boat trip to visit Thien Cung and Dau Go grottoes. Seafood lunch on board (excluding beverages).
p.m.Drive back to Hanoi and transfer to the hotel.

Day 6

Hanoi – Hue
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the airport for flight to Hue, the royal city of Vietnam’s last ruling dynasty. Upon arrival in Hue transfer to downtown.
Visit the Imperial Citadel, Tu Duc Mausoleum and Tu Dam Pagoda.

Day 7

Hue - Danang – Hoi An
Breakfast. At the hotel.
Boat trip on Perfume river to visit Thien Mu pagoda, drive to visit Minh Mang Tomb. Depart Hue for Danang across the Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Ocean Clouds), passing through many pretty red-tiled villages with fruit orchards, enjoying spectacular views of sky and sea.
Visit the Cham Museum, the Marble mountain and China Beach before proceeding to Hoi An. Transfer to hotel. Accommodation.

Day 8

Hoi An
Breakfast at the hotel.
Discover the historic town, which used to be a prosperous seaport city during the 16th to 18th centuries. Visit Hoi An market, Tan Ky old house, Fukien Assembly Hall, and Japanese covered bridge.
Afternoon: leisure time.
Accommodation.

Day 9

Hoi An - Danang – Nha Trang
Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive to Danang and transfer to airport for flight to Nha Trang. Visit the Institute of Oceanography and the Po Nagar Cham Tower, a sacred Hindu site dating back from the 2nd century AD. The town was built between the 7th and 12th centuries and is still used today as a place of pilgrimage for the Cham and Vietnamese Buddhists.
Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 10

Nha Trang – Dalat
Breakfast at the hotel.
Depart Nha Trang for Dalat, a cool mountain resort. It's lakes, waterfall, evergreen forests and gardens make Dalat one of the most enjoyable places in Vietnam. On the way, visit Long Son Pagoda and Po Klong Garai Cham Tower.
Arrive in Dalat and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Lover’s lane, Xuan Huong Lake, Flower Garden and Linh Son Pagoda.

Day 11

Dalat – Ho Chi Minh City
Breakfast at the hotel.
Depart Dalat for Ho Chi Minh City with stopover to visit Prenn waterfall.
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to the hotel.

Day 12

Ho Chi Minh City tour
Breakfast.
City tour: History Museum, former Presidential Palace, Central Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral.
Afternoon visit a lacquerware workshop, Thien Hau Pagoda, Chinatown and Ben Thanh market.
Accommodation.

Day 13

Ho Chi Minh City - Tay Ninh / Cu Chi Tunnels
Breakfast at the hotel.
Pick up at the hotel for the excursion to Tay Ninh church, center of the Cao-Daism religion which combines Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism. Lunch en route. Visit Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing complex of the underground tunnels used during the Vietnam war.
*Alternative programme: Coach trip to My Tho (2-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City) and visit Vinh Trang Pagoda. My Tho is a prosperous town of 170,000 inhabitants in the Mekong Delta. It is famous for its extensive orchards and immense rice fields. Enjoy a boat ride on the Mekong River and visit an orchard on an island, with lunch en route. Continue with a visit to a snake farm and then drive back Ho Chi Minh City. Accommodation.

Day 14

Ho Chi Minh City – Departure
Breakfast at the hotel.
Free time at leisure before the transfer to Ho Chi Minh City / Tan Son Nhat International Airport for departure.
